Coach Suzi
Coach, tennis professional, educator, teacher

Suzi Mills is a certified tennis pro through the US Professional Tennis Registry (PTR). She teaches and coaches at the Chabot Swim Club and at Canyon Middle School. She created the Castro Valley Middle Schools Tennis Team (comprised of both Creekside and Canyon students) and the East Bay Junior Tennis League in 2004.
Suzi previously directed the summer camps at Hidden Hills Tennis Club in Hayward, and was head coach at Head-Royce School (both boys and girls high school tennis). She was head coach at Richmond High School, and taught tennis at Club Med Cancun, Mexico, and at Berkeley High School. Suzi retired as an analyst and technical writer for the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco in 1999.
Her B.A. and California Teaching Credential are in Physical Education from U.C. Berkeley. She also served on the TeamCal Tennis Committee, a support program for the Cal Men’s and Women’s tennis teams. Long time residents of Castro Valley, Suzi and her husband are proud parents of two daughters (both CVHS and UC grads.)
As the Canyon and Creekside tennis coach, Suzi is certified yearly on First Aid, CPR, Megan’s Law, Concussion Training, Mandated Reporter Training, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and Heat Illness Prevention (as required of a Castro Valley Unified School District Coach).
